After focusing a bit more on one ship in 2022, I tried to do a monthly prompt challenge throughout 2023 for different rarepairs. I have ten pseud visible entries for Year of the OTP 2023 and two anonymous pieces:
A Bottomless Teaspoon - Prompt: Flood. Relationship: Dean Thomas/Ron Weasley [unrevealed crush] with some Dean Thomas/Ginny Weasley. In the summer after their Fifth Year, Dean brings a spare sketchbook to the Burrow, and Ron dabbles in art therapy.
A Different Route To Azkaban - Prompt: "No, I'm not dating your brother". Relationships: Regulus Black/Severus Snape, and [implied 'fake' relationship] Sirius Black/Severus Snape. Sirius doesn't want to face the prospect of any potential assignments with fake relationships, so he turns himself in as an unregistered Animagus instead of joining The Order of the Phoenix.
Allergen Surprise - Prompt: Sick Fic. Relationship: Gregory Goyle/Ron Weasley. Ron finds out that he has a semen (or sperm) allergy after his first attempt at a blowjob.
An Unrepentant Slytherin - Prompt: Soulmate AU. Relationship: Gregory Goyle/Fred Weasley. Greg's soulmate mark is revealed, and he's not going to reveal who it is. (Implied pre-crush relationship but definitely not a soulmates get together sort of fic.)
Mistletoe Experimentation - Prompt: First Kiss. Relationship: Gregory Goyle/Draco Malfoy. Greg kisses Draco in order to release him from mistletoe that's an experimental product for Weasley's Wizards Wheezes.
Oh Veela-tine - Prompt: Valentine's Day. Relationship: Fleur Delacour/Ginny Weasley. Ginny has a crush on Fleur during the Triwizard Tournament.
Off-kilter - Prompt: Acceptance. Relationship: Millicent Bulstrode/Hermione Granger. A drabble about Hermione not being able to accept Millicent's offer to go to the Yule Ball.
Outrun The Storm - Prompt: Storm. Relationship: Rolanda Hooch/Minerva McGonagall. Brief glimpses into Minerva's life before a trans self-realization ending.
Secret Commitment - Prompt: Secret Relationship (Reveal). Relationships: Mostly Viktor Krum/Draco Malfoy with past unspecified relationships with Original Male Characters and an implied beard relationship (Viktor Krum/Original Female Character). After the Civil Partnership Act (2004), Draco thinks about broaching the topic of a future civil partnership with Viktor.
Shame, Unfurling - Prompt: "No, I'm not dating your brother". Relationship: Percy Weasley/Oliver Wood. Percy overhears Oliver telling one of the twins that he's not dating Percy.
Snippet - Broken Time Turner - More of a prologue or possible first chapter than a complete fic. Prompt: Time Travel. Relationships: None indicated. After a Time Turner is broken at the Ministry of Magic, Bellatrix is sent back from 1996 to 1981.
Something's in Retrograde - Prompt: Power Swap. Relationship: Pomona Sprout/Sybill Trelawney. Pomona gets a taste of Sybill's divinatory 'powers' for a weekend.
I also still did dabble a bit in that ship [Sirius Black/Severus Snape] for two fests:
A Lack Of Instincts - For Knot Another Writing Fest. A male Omega being able to get pregnant is considered more of a myth than a guarantee, so Sirius is caught off guard by his accidental pregnancy.
It's not really about a steady relationship with Severus, and I specifically ended the fic before Sirius had to deal with potentially telling others. (He's at a stage of still deciding if he'll get an abortion.) This has unintentionally turned this fic into the one [in 2023] I've received the most comments about whether I'll ever do an update (or a sequel) for it.
Apologetically, Sirius Black - For Salt & Pepper Fest. After years of requests for a tell-all book, someone cracks the code on not being charmed to sleep by Sirius' joking reply, and he has to deal with some of the fallout. Mainly, Sirius and Severus get together, but also, there's background Pansy Parkinson/Ron Weasley, Astoria Greengrass/Draco Malfoy, and Gregory Goyle/Harry Potter.
I'm surprisingly fond of this one, but it was the first time a fest mod account posted something on my behalf and added me as a co-creator, so I haven't really wanted to go back and touch anything. I got all that HTML figured out for the Dreamwidth post, and now a part of my brain just can't go back and split the AO3 entry into actual chapters.
Otherwise, it's mostly a win that I got across the temporal finish line for 2023.
