I came across one of the thousands of reblogs of this post on Tumblr sharing a screenshot of the explanation of Metazooa. The Tumblr OP roughly describes it as phylogenetic Wordle, and you get 20 guess to figure out a species. For today, 3 March 2026, I didn't get the answer.
Guess 1 - elephant (Amniota). Guess 2 - crocodile (Archosauria). Then... Birds. I got Neoaves (egret), Telluraves (barn owl), Australaves (falcon), a bunch of wrong answers (Passeroidea, Turdidae, Corvidae), and I ran out of guesses within Passeriforms. The answer was: Swallow.
I didn't want to get trapped amongst the birds again, so I tried raven as my first guess. The common ancestor is Sauria. Sea turtle? That's with raven under Archelosauria, so nope. Rattle snake gets us to Serpentes. Boa constrictor gets us to Henophidia. Burmese python gets us to Pythonidae, and there's not very many pythons in the database [you don't get a species to select when you type it in if it's not in the database]. The answer is green tree python.

There's a practice game that's not connected to the daily game.
