The Morning Show S4 Review
Thursday, 11 December 2025 02:51 pmyourlibrarian posting in tv_talkA Bloomberg News article discussing how sports acquisition will be the big driver to streaming services listed the biggest months for signups during 2025 to Apple+. The top 4 were all connected to MLB games leading with Dodgers vs. Yankees (May) 722K. The top series program was 'The Morning Show' with 524K. Slow Horses didn't make the Top 10 list, but then the data stopped in September, and its new season premiere was in October.
It's clear that Slow Horses is hugely popular as a streaming show. But apparently Morning Show is as well but isn't discussed nearly as much. Its writing is also very strong, it has a large cast, and some big names in the mix. Having just seen its 4th season, I can say it is also not slowing down in any way. If anything, the personal stakes for all the characters just keep going up.
To me, the most riveting episode was 4.8 The Parent Trap. The juxtaposition of Alex and Cory's polar opposites in parenting certainly made suggestions about how and why they turned out as they did, but it also connected to how the finale resolved the season. ( Spoilers )

Sometimes everything works out, and it’s love (or job offer) at first sight; other times, you trip on a shoelace you could have sworn wasn’t untied five minutes ago, or stub your toe and say a word you shouldn’t say in front of your boss’s boss’s boss, or a supervolcano erupts and you have to immediately cut the interview short to go suit up and save the world. What kind of first impressions do your characters make? Good ones? Bad ones? Memorable ones, for all the right or wrong reasons? Write a story about first impressions. If your submission features someone in a suit, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting! |

Anyway, there's only two weeks of moods left, which isn't quite enough time for either a Medium or even a Minimum run—unless you want to try and get a Bingo Blackout before the end of the year. As such, I'll only be posting moods from the Maximum Track.

This is such a beautiful summary of Lito & Hernando & Dani during season 1. I really love the way it captured their shared joy by the end! Plus this song is so perfect for Lito.

I wanted to read something with this ship ever since 1x06 and this fic delivers! I love how the author describes the way they switch between visiting and inhabiting each other's bodies. Will's inexperience compared with Lito's experience is so sexy to me.

Gorgeous compilation of season 1! I really like how this highlights how extraordinary and meaningful their connection is with each other. The vidder does such a good job of balancing everyone/giving everyone screen time, which I'm sure is a challenge with such a big main cast.
✰Angst vor der Angst series by bluetears07 (Sun/Felix, Wolfgang/Felix, Part II Rated Explicit).
Gorgeous prose and this is so sexy too! Sun & Wolfie have so much in common so this really fits. I adore how both of them let their affection for Felix flow, and they aren't threatened by each other.
I'm also shipping Kala/Wolfgang and Kala/Wolfgang/Rajan but I haven't run into any post-s1 fic that I want to dive into yet.
