Recap.

Minor aside about something in Janet Mullany's recap: As far as I know, they're not having a Hanukkah seder. It might be possible that certain dinners on holidays other than Passover may get called a seder, and there's a chance it might be a difference in US/UK usage, movement terminology, or time, but I'm pretty sure Hanukkah doesn't usually have a seder.

Other than that, Mrs Hall panicked a bit about Gerald taking a job in Hull (*), invited him for a Christmas Eve "gathering" (not a party), and then kissed him. Tristan got called up for the Vet Corps, and he ended the episode leaving in a mail car (similar to how we first met him). I mean, some other stuff happened, but Siegfried did let him leave the house. So, I guess we'll have to see if Tris makes an appearance in season 4, or if he gets Edward's route of letters and not-onscreen updates.

(*) While watching the episode, my brain filled in a different place. I hope it was just the tinnitus, but that's definitely a bit different. Hull is a ways over in the East Riding of Yorkshire [Darrowby is supposed to be in the North Riding of Yorkshire], but that's a lot closer than what I thought I heard.

(I didn't originally note what I thought I heard, but if I remember correctly, I think it was Holland. I can only guess that it's because H-vowel-L was the main recognition, 'hall' and 'hull' aren't wildly separate, and '-land' can get a bit swallowed in some speech/dialects/etc. It did artificially raise the stakes of Gerald possibly leaving, though, since I thought he was leaving the country.)
