Day #2: In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private.

Over the weekend, I already made a goal for fannish content here on Pillowfort:

I am going to post or reblog at least one fandom event each month into the Fandom Calendar community.

I've made the decision to try to reblog the promotional posts into other relevant communities, which is a slight update from the original post. I figure it might be nice for podficcers to also see podfic friendly events, so I'm using the quarterly forecasts from Podfic Calendar to look for potential events. I'm aware this might skew things a bit, but I never made any promises to try to find every fandom event happening each month.

Outside of Pillowfort, I'd like to finish at least one WIP at some point in the year 2022.

I finished up a piece that I started for Fun or Fright Fest 2020.

Title: Typing Class

• Characters: Tom Riddle, Original Characters, Hogwarts Students, Hogwarts Staff.
• Additional Tags: Tom Riddle POV, First Year Tom Riddle, Typing Class, Typewriters, 1930s, Halloween, Ficlet, Neopronouns, Thon/Thonself Pronouns.

Summary:

It was the only class Tom was in that was this quiet; no murmurs of students talking to others at their table, no exclamations when reading the assignment, no questions. The layers of Silencing Charms to keep the sounds of dozens of students typing at once from disturbing others in the library created a peculiar feeling of suspension - a sense that talking or other noise would disturb something.

Some of the notes: I’m no typewriter expert, but I was inspired by the photo of the green 1934 Bar-Let Portable Typewriter seen in this blog post. (The blue, green, and red options for a different typewriter model at the very bottom of the post inspired the House sorted colors at each table.)
