Summary:
She thought back to the first time she'd been sent on a surveillance assignment. Tonks had pulled together a nondescript bloke look and pulled a snood down over her ears to hide the piercings. She didn't want to follow the suspect too closely and risk bumping into him – an unfortunate risk with her two left feet, which did indeed happen in her last surveillance attempt – so she held the door open for an elderly wizard. He smiled and casually said, "Why thank you, young man."
Tonks hadn't been able to reply because it felt like something warm and fluttery was racing around in her chest. She merely smiled and nodded, and they both went on their way. But still, she hadn't been able to entirely write off the experience. She stared at the words 'gender dysphoria' on the paper. Was there, like, an opposite of that?
