Fandom Snowflake Challenge

Challenge #5: In your own space, create a list of at least three things you'd love to receive, a wishlist of sorts.
I'm not immune to feeling guilty for asking for things. However, I put off doing this challenge long enough that it's finally time for the challenge where people try to grant wishes >.>

Wish 1: Advice

Does anyone have any experience with biodegradable pens? Or any recommendations? I'm looking for something more environmentally friendly for colleagues and customers to take since I'm guessing most people will just toss them into the trash later. (Ideally, I'd like the pens to be retractable and use black or blue ink.)

Wish 2: Rec

I am open to trying out a few podcast recommendations. I'm more in the mood for fiction than non-fiction, but other than that, I'm leaving this pretty open right now. (I haven't listened to enough podcasts to get a sense for what I don't like.)

Wish 3: Pillowfort Related

Pillowfort is coming up on its ten year anniversary in April 2026. Glancing in the Pillowfest Planning community would be nice. (The Pillowfort Anniversary Festival community will have more in April.)

A couple of fiction podcasts recs:
-Classic Detectives Stories - every episode is a different detective story, usually public domain ones. The guy who narrates them does a good job, and each episode is anywhere from 30min to 1 hour long.
-Sherlock & Co - if you like something a little more serialized this is a modern adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes stories, so there are individual mysteries that are anywhere from 2-10 episodes long, and then the overarching story of John and Sherlock living together as flatmates.

Soy ink is a decent kind of biodegradable ink.

These pens are compostable:

These are biodegradable:

Some promo companies have eco-friendly pens of various styles:

I recently discovered and loved the audio drama podcast It Makes a Sound. https://www.itmakesasoundpodcast.com/ It's probably not to everyone's taste, but it's full of heart and got me misty-eyed on quite a few walks to work while I was listening to it!

I forgot to mention, [community profile] journalsandplanners is where all the pen and paper fans hang out on Dreamwidth. Ask there and they may have more ideas about biodegradable pens and inks.
